About @raymack2009

So, I am Ray Shawn McKinnon. My wife, Kelly, and I were married in 2005. We have a son named Quinton and a granddaughter named Adrianna. We also have a godson named, Isaiah. I have served in ministry--paid or volunteer--since 2000. Back in 2005 I was formally ordained as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Something else you should know about me is that I am passionate about justice and mercy. I am passionate about equality and the reality is that I am pretty certain that I will say one thing or another to offend you. But I am always eager to push the envelope to encourage Christians to think critically. To ask tough questions about why we believe what we believe. To ask: Is what we have always believed (or been taught) birthed in the heart of God? I know enough to know that I don't know enough. Trust when I tell you that I do not think that I know it all. But, I am VERY opinionated.

I love people...all people. Every race, size, religion and sexual orientation.I don't have all of the answers but I try to live my faith. I want to leave the judging to God, the convicting to the Holy Spirit and I want to do my job of loving folks. I want my brief and momentairy life on this earth to matter. I want to spend my energy loving people and sharing the hope that I have found in Christ. When people leave a conversation with me, I want them to leave edified and not heavy and burdened with guilt and shame.

One of my favorite quotes is by Dietrich Bonhoeffer: "Judging others makes us blind, whereas love is illuminating. By judging others we blind ourselves to our own evil and to the grace which others are just as entitled to as we are."

If no one has told you today, God loves you. I love you. You don't have to live like this.

You don't even know how much I love you!

Oh yeah, my twitter handle is @raymack2009 and I read on some blog that you should try to keep all of your social networking things the same so I changed the address of my blog. :-) Lame, I know.
